Erasmus Mundus Joint Doctorate

The GEM PhD School is a world-class Joint Doctoral Programme on « Globalisation, the EU and Multilateralism ».

At present the GEM PhD School already accounts for 19 full-time doctoral research fellows from 16 different nationalities; over 20 senior academics committed as doctoral supervisors and several dozens more researchers and academics as contributing researchers. This growing international epistemic community supported by the European Commission united by a shared concern for the challenges facing regional and global governance has come to embody an international programme, enliven a shared interdisciplinary research agenda, and channel a set of institutional doctoral fellowships.

A Growing Interdisciplinary Research Community

At present the GEM PhD School already accounts for 19 full-time doctoral research fellows from 16 different nationalities. Hailing from a variety of disciplinary backgrounds, the GEM community of young researchers broaches a wide range of issues related to the multifacetted challenges facing "Globalisation, the EU, and Multilateralism". As such, the GEM PhD School's emerging epistemic community offers a varied and interdisciplinary outlook on some of the key issues facing both International Relations and European studies. The individual and distinct research projects developped by each GEM Fellow therefore makes up the central product of the GEM PhD School's on-going scientific efforts. Grouped within the GEM PhD School's 3 Jointly executed Research Projects - AMETRINE, CITRINE & MORGANITE - the GEM research fellows offer an ever expanding source of expertise and inquery.

  • Launch of the GR:EEN-GEM PhD Workingpapers Series

    The “GR:EEN-GEM Doctoral Working Papers” will provide a privileged platform for on-going doctoral research to be published and discussed. Doctoral papers published in this series are done so under the joint auspices of the GR:EEN project and the GEM PhD School.
