AN INTEGRATED TEACHING PROGRAMME
Integrated Structures of the Programme
It contains the following educational modules, which the students can use to compile the necessary 180 ECTS (European Credit Transfer System academic credits) for graduation:
METHODOLOGICAL COURSES / DOCTORAL SEMINAR (Maximum 12 ECTS)
YEAR 1 PROFILING BLOCK OF ELECTIVE TOPIC-SPECIFIC COURSES & SEMINARS (Maximum 12 ECTS)
COMMON GROUP WORKSHOPS within each Jointly Executed Research Project (6 Ects)
YEAR 2 and YEAR 3 SPECIALIZING COURSES, SEMINARS, RESEARCH or TEACHING ACTIVITIES (Maximum 15 ECTS)
ANNUAL GARNET PhD SEMINARS on "Global Governance, Regionalism and the EU" (4-12 ECTS)
DOCTORAL DISSERTATION (120 ECTS)

They include the various national doctoral training programmes existing within the member institutions. As such, GEM PhD students have access to:

Joint Activities
Joint activities organized at the level of the GEM PhD School as a whole include:
AN ANNUAL GEM CONFERENCE AND SCIENTIFIC WORKSHOP hosted by one of the member institutions and gathering all affiliated doctoral researchers
A CENTRALLY COORDINATED AND PROTECTED VIRTUAL WORKSPACE
ANNUAL SUMMER SCHOOLS on specific topics linking the GEM PhD School to the wider research community. These include amongst other the GARNET and GR:EEN summer Schools.
